As a direct primary care practice, we focus on you and your health without the influence of unnecessary third party restrictions. We see far fewer patients than a traditional insurance-based practice so we can provide you the best care possible. You’ll have more time with and easier access to your doctor.
Growing up in a small rural town in Nova Scotia Canada, Dr. Saunders experienced first hand the value of a skillful, comprehensive and compassionate family physician. She provides this same caliber of care to her patients each and every day. After 10 years working in the traditional “fee for service” model of healthcare, Dr. Saunders sought another avenue to provide better medical care to patients. Direct primary care suites her joy of chatting with her patients and empowering them with the knowledge to make the best lifestyle and healthcare decisions for themselves.
Dr. Saunders played NCAA Div I Golf while obtaining a B.S. in Biochemistry from East Carolina University. Her love for warm climates brought her to Grand Cayman Island where she obtained her medical degree from St. Matthew’s University School of Medicine. During medical school Dr. Saunders fell in love with the Tampa/St. Petersburg area and as a result, completed her Family Medicine residency training at Bayfront Health St. Petersburg.
Dr. Saunders is board certified in Family Medicine and is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, American Board of Independent Medical Examiners as well as the Florida Academy of Family Physicians. She enjoys international medicine and has traveled to rural parts of the Dominican Republic to provide medical care. Outside of the office, Dr. Saunders enjoys traveling the world with her husband, gardening, golfing, attending various local sporting events and fitness endeavors.
